We Are Hardkour: The Alternative Prints
There is an intrinsic tie between the struggle to make art, and the struggle to be an athlete. Both require an insane amount of hours dedicated to improving skills. This dedication of time is largely overlooked by many due to only seeing the finished project or medal ceremony.
What is not usually seen or discussed is that dedication of time to work. The hours put in creating, trying, learning, making, and discarding are equal to those hours put in running, lifting, sweating, failing, pushing limits all for the sake of creating and performing.
The images here are created from a variety of alternative photographic processes. Some are even created with more than one process. These process require a larger amount of time and dedication in their craft. This is the cohesive link between the imagery and the concept of art and form. These images have to be done in an alternative format. In the fast fashion and single serving life style that is prevalent in our modern society, the idea of work can get lost and sound like white noise.
There is no quick fix. No participation trophy. One must lift the weight. Run the miles. Mix the chemistry, and coat the paper. Each image too, is not like the next. There is a level of variance form image to image, even if they are the same process. This is also equal to the experience one has in training and competing. No two are the same. Yet all offer a sense of self reward just for showing up and getting it done.
These images are dedicated to all individuals who show up daily to get it done. In and out of gyms, and classrooms, and whatever their studios maybe. Trusting the process rewards who do the work.
